I've been slacking

I've been slacking: I'm at least one post overdue -- Nora McMahon and Case Tanner at the Tin Star last Thursday. To make up for being so late, I'll combine that post with one from Nora & Case at the Cowgirl last night.

Last Thursday this wonderful image in red appeared at the Tin Star while we were playing:

Also, it was Case's birthday. We got him a cigarette lighter...

Dave Waldrop joined us on drums that night. Dave's new band is named Gumbo Project, hope to hear you in the Tin Star soon!

Here we are doing an Ani Difranco song.

Now, on to that other
bar, last night.

Sunday nights at the Cowgirl have an interesting flavor. At 8:00 when the band starts, there is still the family crowd seated, finishing dinner. But then as the evening progresses, The CG reverts to it's normal night time ambiance.

For a while there, you could cut the ambiance with a knife, but then Nora did a Nanci Griffith number, So Long Ago, and all was well once more.

Many thanks to the appreciative crowd at the Cowgirl last night! Until next time,

--Doug
