Sunday Night's "Cowboy" Open Mic

We had cowboys.

We had cowgirls.

We had a guy with a guitar and a guy with a wind-midi. That's an instrument that you blow into, and a computer makes it sound like whatever you want: sax, clarinet, keyboard; whatever.

And we played some music together.
Here's one that we had some fun with: have a listen.

Until next time,

  1. Possibly, but you need to consider that this is a brand new venue, and therefore the musicians and customers have not yet learned about it. Good jams don't happen overnight. Just like the rest of us, they need to grow and mature.

Ben Lucero's Wednesday night jam has the advantage of having done exactly that. These days a core of regular, talented musicians shows up regularly on Wednesday night, as do the people who come there in the middle of the week just to hear the music. In the early days, Ben's jam was a bit thin as well.

I recommend giving the Sunday night folks a chance to grow and mature.

  2. I agree with the comment of 5:33 -- there is room for improvement. I'll stick with the Wednesday jams for a while longer.

  3. I had a great time a few weeks ago, and whenever the town figures out there is free country dancing on Sunday evening look out
